Located in Campbell River on beautiful Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Trophy West Guide Outfitters is proudly owned and operated by the Venus family. Glenn Venus has been involved in the Guide Outfitting business since the late 1980s.

As avid rifle and bow hunters Glenn and his son, Steve, realize that a hunt is about far more than simply harvesting an animal. They are dedicated to providing their BC hunting guests with lasting memories of a total experience that includes rifle or bow hunting in a game rich area, beautiful scenery, great food, comfortable accommodations and high success rates.

With one of the the largest guide areas on Vancouver Island along with an adjoining area, Knight Inlet, on mainland British Columbia, Trophy West has the exclusive guiding rights to a variety of species in this vast game-rich area of BC. This area offers many opportunities unique to the west coast of British Columbia including the famous Knight Inlet and Klinaklini River areas as well as a large portion of  the central and north-eastern part of Vancouver Island.

These two areas of coastal British Columbia combine to offer quality hunts for Roosevelt Elk, Black Bear, Cougar, Coastal Grizzly, Mountain goat, Wolf, and Columbia Blacktail Deer.

BC Roosevelt Elk Our area has produced the world record and #2 Roosevelt Elk for Safari Club International as well as the #2 and #3 bulls for Boone & Crockett. The size and quality of these tremendous Roosevelt bulls speak for themselves.

BC Coastal Grizzly bear grow to trophy proportions, a result of a short hibernation period, prime habitat, and an abundance of assorted feed, including a high fat and protein diet of fish throughout the late summer and early fall. The hunt for the prized trophy Grizzly promises an adventure unique to even the most experienced of hunters. Trophy West also offers bow hunting trips for Grizzly.

Vancouver Island has one of the highest concentrations and densities of BC Cougar (Mountain Lion) in North America. A cougar hunt is an opportunity for an exceptional trophy as well as some memorable photo and video opportunities.

To the North East of Campbell River cutting deeply into the mainland lies Knight Inlet and the high alpine lakes we operate our BC Mountain Goat hunts from. Harvesting one of these majestic animals will take considerable effort but the reward at the end of the hunt is well worth it.

BC Wolf and Columbia blacktail deer inhabit both our areas and can be combined with one of our fall hunts. Wolf can also be taken as a secondary animal on a spring Black Bear hunting trip.

BC Trophy Black Bear hunting! Vancouver Island and Knight Inlet have an abundance and variety of quality game to offer but the species we are best known for are the coastal Black Bears. Game records show the Vancouver Island area to have produced more successful hunts than any other region in British Columbia. It is as good an area to spot and stalk big Black Bears as there exists today.

Trophy West offers both rifle and bow hunting for BC Black Bear.
